Sabrina Boat Cruise & Free time in Shrewsbury

1 Days from just £35.00

Join us on a relaxing river cruise on the River Severn as it winds through the popular market town of Shrewsbury before spending an afternoon of free-time exploring the town, voted as one of the 'Happiest Places to Live' (The Guardian, 2025).

Our day begins aboard the Sabrina River Cruise with a 45 minute cruise along the Severn. The cruise takes in some stunning riverside views, improved further from the top deck by the boat's retractable roof and sides. Travelling in full comfort, expect an exemplary level of attention from the crew the moment you step on board and continues throughout the trip until we disembark in central Shrewsbury.

Home to Britain's favourite market (2018, 2023 and 2024), Shrewsbury offers visitors great culture, scenery and history. Held beneath the town's iconic clocktower, Shrewsbury Indoor Market is home to artisan producers, vintage and retro sellers, quality gift boutiques, artists and craftspeople thriving alongside traditional fruit and veg stalls as well as a century-old family butchers.

Shrewsbury is much more than its award-winning shopping. Shrewsbury Castle, built in 1066 on the orders of William I, Laura's Tower and the decommissioned Shrewsbury Prison, which has starred in Happy Valley and an episode of the Apprentice, sit at the northern end of town. At the other end is the Anglo-Saxon Shrewsbury Abbey, whose buildings largely survived the Dissolution of the Monasteries under King Henry VIII and provided the home of the fictional medieval monk of tv. literature and radio, Brother Cadfael.

Diners can enjoy some of the most creative food in town including an authentic Chinese tea house, continental-style seafood bar, Spanist tapas and sizzling Thai Street Food. Step out into the cobbled streets and find restaurant and tearooms that pre-date the Wars of the Roses and cosy pubs that provide everything you need for a little refreshment, relaxation and restoration diring your visit.
