National Trust Polesden Lacy

A Grand Estate & Stunning Gardens

1 Days from just £33.00

Enjoy at a day at the beautiful Polesden Lacey, a magnificent estate set amongst the Surrey Hills just 25 miles southwest of London.

The Edwardian retreat of socialite Margaret Greville, Polesden Lacey played host to many of the early 20th century's biggest luminaries including being the start point for the honeymoon of the future George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Remodelled by the architects who refurbished the Ritz, the interiors at Polesden Lacey are a showpiece; brimming with luxury and opulence. Margaret Greville was also a wealthy and discerning collector, amassing a fine collection of European masters, Maoilica pottery and fine French furniture.

Set in 1600 acres of countryside largely unchanged in centuries, the garden provides glorious views of Ranmore Common and the rolling parkland. Highlights include the walled Rose Garden, double herbaceous borders and the Winter Garden. There are also several lovely walks, both short and long, through the estate, including the famous Long Walk and Nun's Walk.

Entry is not included in this trip, but is free to all National Trust members.
