Undertaken in 2017, the project to revive the gardens of the historic 156 acre Worsley New Hall estate was one of the largest gardening projects in Europe. The result is the stunning RHS Garden Bridgwater - a constantly evolving oasis amongst Salford's historic landscape. 

Having entered through the stunning Welcome Building, visitors can lose themselves in the mosaic-styled Worsley Welcome Garden amongst the clipped Beeches and domed Yews. Alternatively, take the Long Walk with its many entrances into Weston Walled Garden. The Walled Garden is one of the largest Victorian walled gardens in the UK and maintans its painstakingly-restored original walls. Divided into the Paradise Garden (with its spectacular blend of Asian, Mediterranean and American planting) and the Kitchen Garden (with 100 beds containing over 29,000 plants), it is the spectacular centrepiece of any visit to RHS Bridgwater. 

Covering just over seven acres, the Chinese Streamside Garden has a central location and a pretty stream that meanders slowly between the garden's two big lakes. Along its length are a series of smaller pools and weirs with a sinuous path weaving between and over five stylised wooden bridges. The showpiece, however, is the new Chinese Pavillion, built in cooperation with the local Chinese community.

Take in the city's stunning Gothic, Victorian and modern architecture as you explore the city's vibrant sights and sounds. Visit the Northern Quarter and browse its independent shopping and eateries and sample an eclectic range of cusines from all over the world when you need to stop and refuel for the afternoon's activities.
